The Tuesday became the big fishing day. Directly after breakfast, we where heading for a lake in the woods where we would fish, swim and grill sausages. The children had a great time in the water until Alexis - to their excitement - showed that the lake contained CRAYFISH! After that no one dared to even put a toe in the water. Instead, it became a challenge to catch a crayfish or a fish. The pride that the children showed when they did catch the first perch was very real. The afternoon was devoted to even more fishing, swimming in the pond, football and baseball.

Janis, which we mentioned before, was a small tiny boy, one head shorter than the others and often alone in the beginning. He was very quiet and shy and didn't eat very much. Juris told us that Janis behaved much in the same way home at the orphanage in Riga. But now, after two days, he was a new person. Sebastian was his hero among the leaders and he copied all that Sebastian was doing. This resulted in that he ate like a horse, played football for hours and began to get a attitude. It was wonderful to see!
